THE EFFECT OF GIVING GAMBAS (LUFFA CYLINDRICA) ON BLOOD GLUCOSE OF PATIENTS WITH PREDIABETES WITHIN PUSKESMAS (HEALTH CENTER) IN REJOSARI

Gambas (Luffa cylindrica) is an herbal plant that is cultivated as a vegetable are
beneficial for lowering blood glucose levels of people with prediabetes. However,
there are still many people who do not know the benefits of gambas vegetable.
This study aimed to determine the effect of vegetable gambas (Luffa cylindrica)
on blood glucose levels in the prediabetes in Puskesmas Rejosari. The design of
this research is the Pre-experiment using the design of One Group Pretest Post
test. The population in this study are prediabetic with blood glucose levels two
hours after eating 140-199 mg/dl are located in Puskesmas Rejosari. The
sampling technique used purposive sampling with the number of 15 respondents.
The data collection was done by measuring blood glucose levels 2 hours after a
meal before giving vegetable gambas and given as much as 250 grams for 2
weeks, then measure glucose levels 2 hours after a meal after the administration
of gambas vegetable. The data obtained will be processed by computer. The
results showed an average blood glucose 2 hours after a meal before giving
vegetable gambas is 170.87 mg/dl and after administration of vegetable squash is
166.47 mg/dl, and the results of Paired t test obtained p value = 0.003, which
means that the p value < α which means the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is
accepted, it can be concluded that there is significant influence of gambas
vegetable administration to decrease blood glucose levels in prediabetes
