Abstract

Midwives are essential in providing comprehensive maternal and child services starting from pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and neonates. This final project report aims to provide comprehensive care using the Continuity of Midwifery Care (CoMC) method, namely comprehensive and continuous care according to midwifery care standards using a midwifery management approach. Care was carried out for Mrs.M G3P2A0H2 starting at 33 weeks gestation at PMB Rosita Pekanbaru City from November 2022-January 2023. During pregnancy, four visits were made, Normal Childbirth Care, four visits for postpartum, and three visits for neonates. The complaints experienced by Mrs. M during the third trimester of pregnancy were back pain and lower abdominal pain, which were treated with pregnancy exercises. The delivery took place at 38 weeks gestation and was assisted according to the Normal Childbirth Care (NCC) standards. The baby was born spontaneously with a body weight of 2600 grams and body length of 46 cm, bleeding ± 100 cc, good contractions, complete delivery of the placenta, and no birth canal lacerations. At the postpartum visit, it was found that the milk was not smooth on the first day, and oxytocin massage was started, so the milk was smooth on the second day. Family planning counseling was carried out at the third postpartum visit, and the mother decided to use 3-month injectable birth control. At the neonatal visit, umbilical cord care, personal hygiene, and baby massage were carried out. The baby is only given breastmilk, and the umbilical cord ruptures on the 5th day. There was an increase in the baby's weight by 900 grams, from 2600 grams at birth to 3500 grams at 23 days of age. It is hoped that health workers, especially midwives, can maintain comprehensive and continuous services following midwifery service standards starting from pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and neonates.
