Abstract

Hypertension is a disease that is often referred to as the silent killer. Hypertension is a state of increasing systolic blood pressure greater than 140 mmHg and diastolic greater than 90 mmHg on two measurements with an interval of five minutes in a state of sufficient rest / calm. Hypertension causes various symptoms such as headaches, heaviness in the nape of the neck, dizziness, insomnia, and light-headedness. Risk factors for someone with hypertension such as gender, family history of hypertension, obesity, socioeconomic status, and education. The purpose of this study was to identify the effectiveness of red dragon fruit juice to reduce blood pressure in patients with hypertension. This type of research is descriptive using qualitative research methods conducted on April 18-29 2022. The subjects in this study were two patients who suffered from hypertension. The results showed that client 1 and client 2 experienced a decrease in blood pressure after consuming tomato juice and the observations were in the form of questions about hypertension about the condition experienced by the client. The similarity is that clients both experience high blood pressure with age factors at the same age, namely the range of 60 years and age trigger factors that step on the elderly. The difference is that clients have different diets and lifestyles as well as emotions in dealing with different things.
